The dramatics have begun. At the meeting Tuesday, Jim spoke up at the end when Hook was stating that the petitions had met all of the requirements for valid submission. For many of us, we know that to be untrue.
At the time of circulation, some of those petitions did not have a copy of the ballot proposal nor did they have the map or the metes and boundaries as they are supposed to have. Now, is it possible that they were stapled back together either by IVA or the company they hired - I say yes.
I personally was approached at Petco (outside Vail boundaries) and then yelled at and chased to my car by an individual who only had a single sheet of paper. I was then approached at Walmart in the parking lot again only a single sheet of paper.
There are IVA supporters (I'm looking at you, Bobbie and Rhonda) who would paint Jim as 'out of control' and requiring 'sheriff involvement' at the meeting. Please watch the video for yourself. Yes, he spoke loudly (no microphone) and he did say it was a LIE (accurate). The sheriff did not intervene, we were not asked to leave. In fact, for about 30 minutes after the meeting Jim spoke with Rob Samuelson, Hook (intermittently) and again no intervention was necessary.
As for Jim, since he will not say it, I will. That man has earned the right to speak up when he sees wrongdoing. He served this country in the Army. He also served his community as a first responder (EMT/Medic) saving lives daily. If decisions are to be made about the future of our community and our homes, then it should be done with honest and transparent information
